Fitted mine without a template, not too difficult, the hardest thing is cutting nice neat holes in the sheetmetal.

The snorkel has a cutout along the back which corresponds with the swage line in the front fender, which gives the correct height, then you have to establish the distance from front to rear to get the centre of the big hole. I did this by fitting the support bracket to the screen pillat first, but i can measure a distance from mine if you want to help you. Once the main hole is cut, you can cover the fixing area behind the snorkel with masking tape, fit the studs to the snorkel and press it against the fender to leave an impression of the fixing holes in the tape ready for drilling.
The hole in the inner fender near the air box is easy to mark out once you've fitted the adapter to the airbox, but cutting it is a bit fiddly as it is a tight spot just behind the headlight.

You will also probably have to relocate the wing repeater lamp (mine doesn't have them, import, you see) and if you have the screen wash bottle under the fender this has to be relocated under the hood.

Mine came from Ebay, £120, so £50 is cheap as chips.

PS. have emailed you a drawing of how it all fits together.

Tried Arbil & they quoted me £200 plus VAT, plus postage, etc...........seemed a bit steep to me going by what others have paid??? Called MDG too & they wanted £309+VAT.... :finger2:

Dont think the washer bottle needs relocating on mine as its on top of the nearside wing next to the bulkhead..........correct me if I am wrong!

If it's in the engine bay already you're ok. If it's inside the n/s front wing it has to go.

When i enquired about my Snorkel top,i managed to get them to knock off the vat if i paid cash. Also how much were they asking for p+p?Only asking as they are only up in Lye which is about 15-20 mins from me and if you could get them to knock off the vat for cash then i could always collect for you :D

Dont tell him its a snorkel, tell him its a new performance air intake system(like a K+N SYSTEM) designed to use the air higher up as its cleaner especially when in traffic as you`re not taking in the fumes from everyone elses exhaust and so reduces pollution and increases performance and fuel economy
