Title: CJ BRAKE PROBLEM
Post by: Tank on June 02, 2007, 03:48:57 PM
I guess this is aimed more at Bubba but i welcome answers from anyone really. Was trying to get my CJ ready fro Clyro and so thought as it was a nice day i`d look at the brakes. So i removed rear drums and adjusted rear shoes as adjusters had seized but freed them, adjusted and refitted. Then i had new pads for the front so went on to do them. All went well or so i thought, but when i got in and went for a drive i found that when i brake, car now pulls badly to left but its weird as it almost feels like the front is pulling but the back is doing the same too, although the emphasis is on the front.Had no probs before, just low pedal,no pulling though......any thoughts?????

I used one of those proper brake piston tools to push it back,no sign of any leaks as i pushed them back, and calipers shown no sign of any moisture.Going to change the brake fluid anyway but that wouldnt be the cause i wouldnt have thought

i rekon the piston is stuck from fitting the new  pads at t front  go back to the fronts and do ech side put the lod pads in work the piston in and out try and clean any crud from inside the lip of the piston boot a shot of wd helps as it will wash out the crud  and help lubricate then at the end after you are happy they are free refit the new pads
