Title: The death rattles!!! Help!
Post by: AS90 on July 27, 2007, 08:42:41 PM
I took my Grand into a "4X4 specialist" to have the steering checked as I was getting the death rattles and it limps on full lock, the so called specialist told me the linkage was shot and it was something they would not fix! They couldn't even tell me what parts to look for, they just pointed at the bit that were loose! So, I need to identify what parts are knackered and I need to know how to go about getting it fixed, any help?

Open this (http://http://www.xjjeeps.com/com_xjjeeps/manuals/1994_-_1996_parts_catalog.pdf) PDF. Go to page 502 of 1045. Find the parts on the diagram. Ring lighthouse and confirm the part numbers (this is a '96 list, so it may be different). Order the parts and find someone to do the work for you.

so much for the specialist and they cant even tell you what part is loose except point. I'd go somewhere else.
