Read this http://http://www.go.jeep-xj.info/HowtoAlignment.htm

Your 4WD system is part time, not constant.

Ah. I see you have a diesel. In that case i'd suggest around 1-2mm toe in. The problem is that a rear wheel drive vehicle normally requires a slightly different geometry setting than the same vehicle with front wheel drive or four wheel drive. If the vehicle has both, then the geometry has to be something of a comprimise. The spec in the FSM I have stares parallel +or- 3mm for all the '94 XJs, but I would be inclined to run 1-2mmm toe in on a diesel as it's RWD only on the street. If you're running with modified suspension or oversize tyres, set to parallel initially and watch for unusual tyre wear, adjusting toe and tyre pressure if any occurs. The guy is probably asking as some data sheets give these different specs for full and part time 4WDs like the Jeep's 242 and 231 transfer cases.

Cheers mike     it's a petrol 2.5 but i'm running 31s and 3inch lift, so i'll go for parallel and watch for wear.............
