Title: Tank Leak
Post by: SB on November 27, 2007, 07:30:50 PM
Just noticed that I have what appears to be a very minor leak from the fuel tank on the Cherokee! No noticeable loss of fuel on the gauge. When I stop and park up a small patch of fuel appears on the ground on the passenger (filler) side of the car - probably less than a thimble full. This doesn't happen every time though and can't see any noticeable dripping.
Any suggestions?

try the hose clip at the tank end of the filler hose. is it only happening when there is a lot of fuel in the tank?

Not too sure, am monitoring it now - am on half a tank now. The leak seems erratic had no problems for a while but has just started again, put it down to wet weather last time and water dripping off the tank but not sure now

Will have to check that out in daylight. Have been parked up for about 2 hours and there is a 4" patch underneath the corner of the tank, no visible dripping

Have a looksee if the pump unit on the tank is leaking.
