Title: american tyres
Post by: cherokeegraham on December 15, 2007, 12:27:14 PM
I'm looking for some new tyres for the XJ.  With the exchange rate as it is, what are peoples thoughts on getting tyres from the states, I'm looking at Super Swampers?

yep go for it!!!!
once i save up some dosh im gonna import some baja claws!

if you know what you want get a price off specialist leisure and L.A Supertrucks.
and then fob them both off and import them yourself for less!!!!

l.a is the main uk importer for swampers so you'll probly get a better price than specialist but if you look at the prices, if its 200dollars then they'll charge £200 so 9 times out of 10 you can import them alot cheaper!!!

remember if you get swampers they're not road legal over here altho plod will only check the tread depth, but most of them arn't speed rated over 50 or even close!!!!

just for your info all tyres you import need to be "e" marked , if they are not and plod pulls you over it can be a very hefty fine for each of the tyres you have fitted to your vehicle, they will then call vosa in and they will go thru your vehicle and pull it apart and then charge you for allowing them to do so, so make sure you do your homework first.
