HI ........... GOT A PROBLEM WITH THE WIFES JEEP.ITS A WJ ON A 99 PLATE .IT IS A 4.0 PETROL.. NO POWER IN THE CAR IF YOU TAKE YOUR FOOT OFF THE ACCELERATOR.ALSO BLACK SOOT COMES OUT OF EXHAUST IF ITS REVVED UP.SO WHEN ITS IDLING IT CUTS OUT.......................ANY SOLUTION WELCOME

Check the air filter for obstructions.

Sounds like it's running way to rich, or the cat's blocked. check the plugs see if there all running rich, all black  sooted up.........

tps make em pop n fart though and doesnt explain the smoke thing. i know its daft but are all the fluids lookin ok?
