Title: CJ7 & 4 seats?
Post by: Bulldog67 on January 14, 2008, 10:08:41 PM
Right, next brain picking, I've got 3 boys and so need 4 seats in my CJ7, i have gone down the 4 sports seats (2 just behind the roll bar facing back) but however much i jumped on them, i couldnt get them to fit, they needed to have a base of 430mm, but were closer to 490mm, which appears to be a minimum standard.

so, as i actually like my boys, and therefore i'm not gonna sit them on the current bench seat, any ideas?

the best i have come up with is the link below, but mastercraft havent come back with a price yet and i suspect it will give me a heart attack when they do! cheers again for any ideas.  :supz:

the factory bench works and you can upgrade from lap belts to harneses i think the mastercraft ones are sexy though

Dude, if you'd post a quick intro in the 'Introductions' forum, that would be most appreciated. We're nosey you see, and would like to know a little about your Jeepin' background. Cheers.

reply from mastercraft:

"Thank you for your interest in MasterCraft Products. The bench they
used in the build was our 36" Rubicon bench and was specifically made for
the CJ. The cost of the bench is $474.95 and to add the adjustable headrest is $75.00 per headrest."

obviously just a drop in the ocean! and they have yet to finish off the coronary with the shipping quote!

looks like i need to find somehwere that can do me headrests to bolt on to the standard bench.

ps. intro done  :supz:

your gonna need a head rest after the wife has found out what you have spent, or you might just use the floor instead

looks like I managed to get the mastercraft employee who jacks in their job today, as she recommends I go elsewhere, here is her reply about shipping:

"Export shipping costs are about $300. You may want to try going through Quadratec, they might be able to beat our prices on the bench and export costs."

so, one bench seat, all in for about £450, i think i may pass, or my wife will be using the sharp bit on a shovel as my next headrest.

next plan, keep looking, plan after that, Im gonna bolt a sports seat in the back and one boy stays at home!

quick update, she was right, quadratec was cheaper, by over 50% on the seat and the shipping (cant work that one out!), so, one one bench seat with headrests on the way. sweet!
