I have a 97 (facelift) 4.0L limited in the shop with what I believe to be a security lock-out issue.
It is LPG converted and died whilst running normally this weekend. It was believed to be switched to petrol and run out but with a tank of fuel its not starting.
There is neither fuel pressure or a spark which is too much of a coincidence in my book. I believe the problem to be a background security immobiliser issue but the normal 'key in the passenger door thing
has had no effect.
Can anyone offer any further advise please ? Its clogging my workshop up.

do you know the type of imobiliser then contact the manufacturer for additional details.
I'll give you two pork pies and it'll be gone if that's more help
-
Mik dood. just push it outside for the night, i am sure some local chav will get it goin in no time
does sound like an immobilizer problem.

Is the crank sensor ok?
-
i seccond the crank sensor!!!
-
i believe it is the negative karma that your troubled mind is carrying around stopping it from starting
-
i wouldn't have thought the crank sensor would kill the fuel presure just the firing of the sparks
-
It needs cam and crank signals to be present and synchronised to time injection and ignition correctly.
-
that would stop it firing (to protect the engine) but would this kill the fuel pump near the tank ?
-
You get the initial 1 second or so of fuel pump when the ignition turns on, but then it won't run anymore till there's a health cam and crank signal.
-
have ya sorted it Mik dood?

check that the lpg system has i decend power supply as it is the master over the fuel system now
on my rangy i use to own a dodgy fuse which turnes out to be the main fuse for the lpg which then turned out when that fuse ain`t good the engine ecu ain`t powering up resulting in no spark no fuel and no go
