The Ice Maiden lived up to her name. She wouldn't let me drive her off road again :(
We drove her up to the 4x4 track about 20 miles from where I live. The re-built engine running lovely. Next thing we noticed oil stains in the puddles, so we checked under the vehicles and found oil pissing out of the transfer box on the CJ7. On closer inspection the oil is leaking from the front output shaft. I took the prop off today and the shaft can be moved/wobbled about 1mm.
So now I,m after some advice.
Is it box out, or can the front output shaft bearing be replaced with the box in situ

Not up on the cj7 but if it's 231/242 i reckon you could, if this link works it will give you a idea of the workings. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MH3VMyWgwNI (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MH3VMyWgwNI)

what t case is it mate

Seized front prop splines seemed to have caused the problem.
Basically the front prop was forcing the front drive output 'up' stressing the bearing. Anyway its a Dana 300. I have removed the transfer box and the gearbox. Upon closer investigation there are oil leaks all over the place. So I thought fook it lets get the lot out and change all the seals whilst we are at it.
All I need now is someone that can refurb my Transferbox

Get yourself a copy of the CJ rebuilders manual by Moses Ludel.
http://http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_ss_w_h_?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=moses+ludel&Go.x=18&Go.y=15
Gives you a step by step guide to trans case overhaul, amongst other stuff. Lots n lots of stuff. Gives you all the torque figures, bearing pre-loads etc etc.
just remember there are two versions of the book relating to build year. Make sure you get the right one!!
Worth it's weight in gold.

Been very busy lately. However managed to rebuild the transfer-box. Also replaced the input and output shaft seals on the gearbox whilst we were at it. Today we re-fitted the boxes etc. :?: can someone point me in the right direction as to where I can find this info or is it a case of obtaining the oil from Jeep.
Thanks

Read this, the bit on oil is at the bottom, but read the rest first.
