Title: 94 cherry
Post by: Carlos Fandango on February 12, 2008, 08:07:36 PM
Hey chaps,

just a quickie, thinking of looking at a 94 cherokee 4.0L with a 4" lift and a few extras. What should I be looking for in the terms of rust etc as its obviously as its a 12year old motor. Also with a 4" suspension lift what would be the biggest wheels n tyres you could fit under the arches if you bought a flared wheel arch kit?

Cheers guys

as for rust lokk in the following places.
roof gutters,
door frames
rear boot floor (covered by a fixed carpet)
inner rear wheel arches where the corner and side of the boot is.
31x10.5x15 can be fitted as std but the steering stops might need to be adjusted.
you could go for the next size up but that might need some front wing trimming to give the tyre some clearance

Also check the rear sills and front footwells. ...... I found this on my 95 today :-?

Get underneath and look at the floorpans. The boot rot is the worst - glued on carpet one side, fuel tank the other. Check the sills, though they're not major concerns - just replace them with box.

With 4", 31s with no mods, or 33s with bushwackers, trimming, more offset and possibly steering stops.
