Title: programming key fob
Post by: Trackbikes on February 27, 2008, 10:59:54 PM
I have a 2nd key fob for my 98 GC. I need to get it programmed by a local dealer.. will they need the car or is the first key fob all they'll need?

I'm in the same position with my 98 and need to get mine done. My dealer quoted £30 to do it and they need the jeep.

Also if you've bought your spare from Ebay ensure the codes on the back match as my dealer said they had loads of people buy from ebay and cos the codes don't match the originals they can't reprogramme them.

If you get yours done first let me know how you got on fella.

Cheers

Well, I was passing the local Jeep dealer (malaga Central) so popped in to see if I could book a time to have the new remote programmed.

The guy at the reception told me to hang on a minute and did it there and then himself... all for free...

total time 5 minutes... total cost €0
