Hello again puggy here. my washer jets on my 97 4.0 XJ have slowed to a trickle , the pump sounds to be working but I can't find it to check ,the filler disappears into the nearside wing.
Can anyone tell me how to get at the pump and water container.
Thanks for the positive comments about my Jeep in the intro section cheers Puggy

It's inside the wing. Easiest is to jack up the front nearside, remove the wheel. Then prize off the studs that hold on the inner wing. Unbolt from the engine bay, and it will drop down. (If I remember right - it's been a while!) The motors are disturbingly small!

I had trouble with mine, twas the non return valve buried in the wiring loom on passenger side behind the battery, bypassed it now they work better than ever.

if both washer pumps work fine then check the jet nozzles as they could have become clogged with road salt.

First call the nozzles...been there done that...needle down the hole...

or better still stick a good presure air line on em.

Yup...

try checking the washer pipe going up to the washer jets. they can sometimes get worn by the wiper linkage wearing a hole in them.
mine was like this,

Cheers all ,for the replies you were spot on. Fine filters in the end of the tiny pumps were clogged with sludge and the hose to the offside was worn through by the wiper linkage.
Saved me a bomb cheers
Puggy.
