Title: Hi clearance transfer case skid

I am going to be after one for the TJ soon, i wont be able to fab one myself so i will have to cough up for one.

The question is which one ?

I have heard good reports about nth degree and jeepmedics but i thought they had gone out of business.

I have been looking at this (http://http://www.33engineering.com/skids.html) one.. with a small write up Here (http://http://www.rockcrawler.com/techreports/33engineering_tcase_skid/index.asp) ...not that good but its all i can find..

Other than that its Skyjacker or Teraflex belly up..

Any views good or bad appreciated... 8-)

As far as I know Asylum has the Teraflex belly-up skid plate. There's something you've got to do or  got to have though for it to fit... (It may well be a SYE)

Manda is correct. I have the Terraflex belly up skid. Its not a true flat skid but I think it does a wonderfull job. When I (with warthogs help) fitted it, we did install an SYE at the same time. Not sure you have to have an SYE but as I fitted a 4 inch lift at the same time also, it was always part of my planning to do so.

Over time I found that the engine lift blocks that come with the belly up plate are a good idea to fit, because when your trucks balancing on its nose there is just enough movement availible to let the fan foul the bottom of the radiator cowling. Fitting the engine lift blocks fixed that though. If you have a body lift then you probably already have an engine lift so most likely not needed.

I have to say, probably one of the best mods I have done that has increased the trucks over all performance/ability

Thanks for the replies..

I am changing my set up which will include the sye and much the same as Asylum I am planning to do the skid at the same time.. :wink:

You will need 1" body lift & MM for the belly-up (just fitted mine, excellent bit of kit, you can fit it without, but then would need to chop exhaust hangars and mess with the transfer linkage.

Didn't have to make any adjustments to my exhaust or transfer linkage. I dont have a body lift and didnt have raised motor mounts. As described did lift the motor though with supplied lift blocks. Fitted like it was meant to be there. maybe I was just lucky, they do say every truck is different.

Well thats answered my next couple of questions about the exhaust and shifter linkage.. thanks very much for the info... 8-)

The lift blocks are the same as motor mounts, make sure your fan doesn't foul the shroud.
