Hi guys
Acouple of things, and excuse me if these seem obvious, but my 4l 96 xj sounds a little clackety when first starting up from stone cold, any ideas and also are they usually lazy sounding starters from cold ? The battery needle on the dash guage reads just about central when running , could it just be an old battery? Any help greatly appreciated. By the way I used to be heavilly into veedubs but nowI have a jeep i'm cured !!!!Great site ,Birtys

give the engine a dose of engline flush and change the oil, might be a lazy hydraulic lifter
