Title: Arc welding on XJ
Post by: puggy on April 09, 2008, 10:25:10 PM
Hello folks, if I wanted to do a little arc welding on my 97 XJ what parts of the electrical system do I need to disconnect.
On earlier cars simply disconnecting the battery was enough but I would hate to fry something important.
Cheers Puggy

I would disconnect the powertrain control module and the battery.

Cheers for the advice, the welding I was planning is on the trackbar bracket at the axle end so is fairly heavy duty.
Excuse my ignorance but what is the Powertrain control module and where is it.
