Title: 1998 Facelift Cherokee Limited - Radio Locked

Radio has locked up having had incorrect code applied (WAIT 2HRS showing). Now have the right code. Is there any way around leaving the ignition (and radio) on for 2 hours to clear the fault?

I've tried taking the radio fuse out, but there is evidently a constant feed as the security LED keeps flashing and 2hr display remains.

If I remove the radio itself and leave it off the battery will the 2hr fault clear, or do I still need to put a 12V feed on for the required period?

The car has the optional Alpine 6disk and the infinity amp - if the radio is too much effort to fix, can any radio/cd be used with the amp'd speaker system.

It needs to be on for the 2 hrs.
