Title: Newbie in Berkshire
Post by: aussie_b on June 05, 2008, 01:46:58 PM
Hi all,
I'm not only new to this website but also to JEEPs, recently bought  Cherokee 2.5 TD which seemed great on the test drive but however the next morning (typical English summer's morning - wet) I had the left rear brake lock-up for the first few times of use but it settled down after that. I also have a similar phenomenon with the clutch, first thing in the morning it seems to bite harshly coursing the old girl to shudder, but again that to settles down after a while...any thought on problem and or cure would be great.
Also, does anyone know of a reasonably priced service garage in the Reading or Berks area.
Thanks in advance.
Brett

Mine is the same! after its rained in the night or whatever, the rears will lock qiute harshly, so I do a few yards with ma foot on the brake gently and it cures it till the next rains, which is pretty much 100% of the time.

As far as the clutch is concerned well the 2.5 TD is a bit agricultural in my opinion so it seems normal, but mine suffers rear crank oil seal leak and that causes shudder from the oil.

Hope this helps. :-D

Thanks for all the replies, I guess I'll learn to live with it, my only concern is that the Mrs thinks it's caused by my bad driving !!!
