any of you folk out there got an opinion on aluminium trolley jacks [race jacks?]
-
they look nice but a effing expensive!
-
yes tis true somtimes you could do with a trolley jack as well as ya face breaker but carting them about is a heavy job off road
-
never seen one.........snap-on by chance?
-
not sure i think beta do one also sealy and clarke the beta one looks quality
-
they are bling but i know of a mobile mech who has broken three of them now. ok they are all replacements for the first one he bought but they have all broke. they aint as light as you would think either and only a 2 tone lift so no good if you left yer sarnie box in the jeep. i think they brake o the frame rather than hydraulic failure
-
Are they some kind of development of rally /F1 stuff so only used for light vehicles?

I have heard that they are for Girls and X5 owners
Look nice though................

I used to have one for the Caterham. Was fine for this use.We imported a container load of the cheapo Chinese ones and also impact drivers. In all fairness,it was a good jack for the Caterham(low entry, quick lift, large rubber saddle),but i think it was only rated at 1.25 tonnes,so for many ordinary cars it would not be ideal, especially a Jeep.
Good luck
-
i have one for work
its very light and pumps a car up with 4 pumps ......however a heavy car still miles under the rate for the jack has broken 2 jacks so far
-
these are not exactly designed for off road aplications unless you carry around a large board for it to stand on etc. designed for light race cars not a two tonne lifted jeep
-
Had two of those alloy trolly jacks and both now scrapped treated my self to a blue point one a few months ago when they were on special and it's still very good.
-
i think they seem to be in the development stages to be honest. give it a while and they will sort the glitches.
