Title: Grand Cherokee XJ rear crankshaft oil seal leak, VM diesel
Post by: AndrewC on June 13, 2008, 09:00:29 AM
Hi
I have a neighbour with a Grand Cherokee XJ VM 2.5L with a very bad rear crankshaft oil seal leak. Can anyone advise the best way to replace this? Is it necessary to remove the engine or is it easier just to drop the gearbox and replace it with the engine in situ? He has access to a pit. I have looked on Jeep Workshop manual CD but can't find any information for engine overhaul.
