shelling out hideous amounts, and i know tyre questions are dull, but......

at 33x12.50x15, potential of 85% road, 15% off

I have cooper Discoverer,a good tyre,both on and offroad.BF Goodrich are a very good tyre too,and very hard wearing.Dont know too much about the Bridgestone

I have had my Coopers for a while,they were bought second hand,were on my CJ,then my Toyota,loads of offroad abuse,and still good,so i reckon they will give BFG`s a good run for the money when it comes to lasting

you could try the kumho kl71 not a bad tyre but wears slightly quicker than the bfg but still performs well in the mud and cheaper

me and manda both run the coopers and they work very well in all conditions. tyres...ya pay yer money ya take yer pick.

kumo on 2 jeeps and mtr on 1 and i cant say wich is the better tyre septin the kumo is much cheaper

My 2ps worth if you want 15% off road then Grabber AT2s are good tyres. I'll find a pic later.

At least 85% of my driving is on tarmac and only 15% is off-road or laning, but I would go with a M/T tyre as I know the times I’m off-road or laning, the Jeep would have to be recovered all the time.

The Simex in the J33P link are made from a very soft rubber and won’t last long on tarmac, but great in mud!

I currently run Kumho MTs. The only criticism I have is with the lack of tread on the shoulder/side-wall like you get with the Coopres. The Kumho KL71s look a great tyre fitted with probably slightly more bias towards tarmac than a traditional MT, but I recall the tread depth is slightly less than a traditional MT.

You'll get better tyre wear from the BFG MT on the road but I've heard that the Cooper has a better sidewall grip for mud plugging. The KL71 has a fairly soft compound so would probably wear out the quickest.

If I had to pick I'd go for the Cooper STT but at the end of the day the choice is always going to be your own

found some 33's Bronco Claws, near brand new x 5 at £250 (on rims i could probably flog).

what do you reckon birty tyre gurus?

they aint bad but i have seen em tear of lugs and start to leak. they dont really have the best reputation i dont think.

sorry, scrap that, they are 33x11.22 (285x75x16), he gave me the wrong size
