Title: crank sensor,Too young to die
Post by: baldazacoot on July 25, 2008, 01:30:47 PM: 93 YJ 4.0L Wrangler, 45k. I have suddenly aquired a dead engine. It has been starting and running exceptional with no problem.Now,Its decided not to start. Before owt else do I go for a CPS ??? Any Suppliers in Uk have 'em. Thanks

Post by: baldazacoot on July 25, 2008, 09:13:08 PM: Manual and yes it turns over. Had an electrician to look at it today but went away huffing and puffing with a recomendation of change the CKS c'os its cheaper than a proper electrician with all the tech stuff i would assume.

Post by: Mike Pavelin on July 25, 2008, 10:48:27 PM: You should have a 'check engine' light as well. Cycle the ignition on off on off on and watch it flash a sequence of flashes and pauses starting 1flash pause 2flashes denoting code 12 for start of test and 5 pause 5 for code 55 end of test. anything in between these coses is a fault code.

Post by: Mike Pavelin on July 26, 2008, 07:20:46 AM: The Check Engine lamp should self test every time you turn the ignition on. It should be bottom left hand corner of the cluster of warning lamps. Better check the bulb. If it's ok the wiring to it or the Powertrain Control Module could be f***ed.

Post by: baldazacoot on July 28, 2008, 11:17:59 PM: Stripped all the dials out and checked the wiring out as far as going into harness, seems ok??? Still no check engine light on, bulb ok.
