I bent up the pipes for these a few months ago and decided to get my ass in gear and build ‘em this weekend seeing as I can’t come out and play with the rest of you.

you need to trim some more - great start though, keep the progress and photos coming.
-
Nice 8-)
-
Very cool I love to see stuff people fab on there own. Well done
-
i agree with germanxj, great to see people build more than buy.
looks like you need some side protection to cover them holes too.
-
Yea I got 2 sheets of 4'x16' 3m checker plate ready to make full armour
-
Nothing done yesterday, I got dragged to a christening. Seeing as I have a few days off I managed to get the other side framed before I got rained off.

Made a bit more progress today, got the right hand side to fit and skinned it

Also made the support for the checker plate top, but can you see the obvious mistake?
Need to make room for both batteries

Oh well! Off to get some more square tube Sunday and then I can do other side and make a battery tray.

Nothing is sacred nowadays, some bastard has made off with your battery already
Seriously though, how are you planning to protect your engine bay from pilfering fingers, flying rocks and gallons of water/sloppy mud?
-
great progress - take off the front bumper and that would look very aggressive....
-
when the checker plate goes on top there will be a return down on the inside of about 8" then i have some 1/4" rubber sheet to make
a skirt to bring it down to the chassis rail.
i do have plans for the front bumper, i will be loosing the outer hoops and sweeping back the sides, dont want to take all off,
one cos it welded on, two cos it has good hooks, d shackle points and the winch is very secure.
Before i mod the bumper though I need to fit higher front shock mounts, when i got the new shocks i got fronts with a bit extra travel ready for this mod.

started strip down, should be in paint by the end of the week, just broken spline bit so stuck until new set comes in post then its dash and lower hinges off and in paint
