No, no piccies yet I'm itching to get at it but I've just had some major aggro at work and it's keeping me extra busy at the mo.  But I've got to get it done before the end of August so I can go to the Wilderness Gathering in Wiltshire.  I'm hoping to get it all sorted in a couple of weeks.

I havent even run a swaybar in 2 years.  Most would advise against it, but I have had no trouble you just have to stay alert while driving.

HUGE difference when you first use disconnects. There's a few different versions on the market. I was told some makes can be quite noisy when connected on the road but I have the JKS quicker disconnects and you don't get any noise from them, just keep 'em greased up.

for the cost, disconnects are probably the best value you will find in off- road mods

cheap, easy to fit and frees that front suspension to move so you get traction  8-)

I've got them in stock for about £65 a pair if anyone wants some

They will release the front suspension no end when unhooked and will still give the polite road manners you are used to when reconnected..

Well worth the money

David

At the risk of sounding like a total newbie, what are are disconnects and what's the advantage?

They are the link to the front sway bar from the axle it reduces body roll.  These wll limit the extension of the axle away from the vehicle.  Disconnects allow the axle to drop freely away when off road.  Currently the supplied ones on mine are weleded up unitl I can fabricate some that don't clonk whilst using it on the road.

A disconnect would replace item "3"

That cleared it up in my head. I'm pretty familiar with regular car mechanics, but this serious off road stuff is a whole new ball game! I can't wait to get started!

Already done got a set of JKS flying in as we speak. Some more Poly bushes and a TJM steering Damper coming next week and the pile is finally done (ish) and next weekend a new butterfly will emerge from it's chyrsalis (Garage).

I'm planning on doing a build thread but wether I get the time is another matter!!
