I noticed yesterday that at idle the engine was trembling slightly and as i`ve never noticed that before had a look round and checked some stuff out.
First of all I thought I might have a fuelling problem or maybe a spark problem but after checking the plugs/ leads and distributor (fine) I saw a crack at the bottom weld of my manifold. I then looked further and I think one of my engine mounts has cracked. It looks like theres a bit missing but I`m not sure. I`ll post some pics. Its the rear one at the passenger side.
Is there anything else I should check as I`m hoping thats my problem with the engine shake and nothing else.
Any info appreciated guys.

It was taken from underneath. The blue writing bit looks like its been a replacement and the rectangle rubber `shim` is as loose as a bastard. Is there a bit missing off at where the arrow points?

The crack is right round the weld.

That weld is one of the places where they crack. There may be another crack further up on it too, on one of the other welds.
Not sure what year or model your Jeep is from the shape of the engine mount but that rubber thing isn't in any of the parts lists and has no reason for being there it would seem. Unless a previous owner did/had some sort of bodge job on it?
With only one picture of the mount and the rubber in the way it's impossible to say what state the mount rubber is in.

Thanks man, it does look like some sort of previous fix. Its a `99 XJ 4.0Ltr Orvis. I`ll get it over a pit and get the engine pan off to get a proper look.
I`ll need to do a bit of research to se what I need to buy/repair. If there was a quick route to repair i`d take it.
maybe thats a better picture. Can this part be replaced with an orginal?

Mount appears normal from pictures in the 99 XJ FSM. when you remove the rubber that shouldn't be there you should be able to see if the rubber within the mount has sagged.
I replaced the sagging mounts in my TJ with aftermarket OEM style ones and the replacements sagged pretty quickly. After that happened I imported M.O.R.E. Bombproof mounts from the US which I've had for a while.

Cheers Jonny. Its not a major deal to be honest. I was thinking of buying on of those Twinflex manifolds as a replacement.

The mounts look like an easy enough change but the manifold could be a bastard.

fitted one of those to the TJ, nice bit of kit

I have one of the twin flex manifolds on my TJ. Took me about 3.5 - 4 hours to fit in no particular rush.

Have a look at buying one from China!

I take it that manifold will fit any 4.0Ltr? I`m looking at a new set of mounts too. The passenger side one is shot.
