Title: Problem with 1997 Grand Jeep Cherokee Ltd

Hi,
I have just bought a 1997 Grand Jeep Cherokee LTD edition and when turning on the ignition this afternoon the instruments do not register (i.e. fuel gauge, temp etc) and the car turns over but only for two revs and then dies. Someone mentioned a possible problem with a common earth (maybe behind the dash) - any help much appreciated!

Try disconnecting the battery for a minute to reset the computers.

i  had the same with mine 97 grand i ended up removing bthe dashboard and theres a 16 pin connector i pushed it in made sure it was tight and has been fine ever since

Cheers will try that as the battery tip doesn't seem to have cured it!
