Fitted some rocksliders to my jeep this weekend was going to finish it yesterday but the weather beat me, so did the passengerside one today but had problems getting it to fit up tidy to the sill so started cleaning the offending unflat surface only to discover some serious rot at the back end of the sill and floor areas.
The sills were boxed at some stage in a previous ownership but was completely bodged with filler, expanding foam underseal and tons of waxoil stuff at the ends, so its all gonna have to be stripped of its paint and re-done correctly, so thats the major work on it for the official winter period

They all look smart til you start prodding around and they are just rusty shit heaps really
The metal on the floor pan is just sooooo thin!!!

Yeah thats the one, still does aside from the bash in the rear left corner now, when its washed up it looks well tidy.
But there is extensive welding required underneath around the shackle mounts and the offside shackle mount itself, the sills front end and back end and the drivers floor where it meets the sill at the front, all the shock bushes need replacing and the swaybar bushes are shot, drivers swaybar link is dodgy the upper shock mounts at the rear are totally bodged and the offside rear lower shock mount is buggered as well, threads stripped,so it all needs sorting out, the rad has totally had it, the front calipers have played up since the first time I drove it, and there is no rear offside brake period.
Its useable, but will need fine fettling come the winter thats for certain.
