Title: Check engine warning light & speedo dies Cherokee 2.5 TD

Hi,

I wonder if anyone can help me with a problem I have with my 96 2.5TD Cherokee. It drives fine but often when I hit a bump or accelerate quickly the speedo & rev dials stop working & the check engine light is illuminated. This is accompanied by a quick roary rattle of the engine. Once the engine is switched off and re-started it goes back to normal - no light & dials working again.

Would be grateful for any advice!

Bad connection somewhere. Start with the wiring harness to the pcm under the bonnet and the diesel controller under the driver side dash.

Look at the harness by the pedals, it rubs on the clutch pedal sometimes.
