Title: GC just died...
Post by: Trackbikes on September 04, 2008, 01:15:17 PM
I was driving along an hour ago , turned into a narrow 1 way street and thought ohhh the steering feels heavy..ohhh crap where are the brakes gone..

The engine was dead, it turns over but doesn't start.

Whipped out a sparkplug which was dry and didn't spark..

would I be correct in thinking that it could be the crank position sensor which has died??

Possibly, What year is your Jeep?

Will the on-off-on-off-on key sequence bring up fault codes in your odometer I wonder...  ?

1t's a 98 4L Orvis

There was no movement on the tacho when i was cranking it over, so i've removed the CPS and I'll try to find a dealer over here with one in stock (spain)

The end of it looks a bit scared so i think it may have been rubbing and the metal is showing through in 1 place.
