Title: Thicko question
Post by: big g on September 06, 2008, 09:22:29 PM
Will an 94 rear axle bolt up to a 98 facelift model or is it a hassle swapping bits to match 'em up???
Appologies if this has been covered before.

In short yes they will

Depends on what maodels you are talking about though

A 4 litre on a 98 is an open diff Dana 35
the same on the 94 will have an LSD but is still a Dana 35

The 2.5 petrols have a Chrysler axle with an LSD

2.5 deisels have Dana 35's with LSD

look out for the gear ratio's also

Make sure if you need ABS you get one with it also

Cheers for the info.
It's a 98 4.0 so it may be gettin a slipper,I'll speak to the man.The ABS may have to binned.

Least they're both Dana 35's so swapping shouldn't be too much of a pain.Take it the ratios weren't altered on that axle over the yrs??

The gearing should be the same (unless tow packages etc were used

Our lasses Voyager came back from it's test with a fair old list so the axle will be on hold for a while, unless there's a catastrophic moment.
Thanks away-I'll bear it in mind if you don't sell it this time.
