Title: Steering Knuckle

Just a tip here which helped me when I needed the knuckle off to do the UJ

Undo the 3 bolts using a 13mm socket.

You might have to turn the steering back and forth to get to all the bolts

Then copper slip the bolts and put them back all the way then undo them 2 threads

Then tap the bolts, each one going around and the knucle should move.

Slacken the bolts off accordingly as required. and keep on tapping till it slides off

This is a lot easier than trying to knock the front edges with a big hammer and causes less damage

This worked both sides.

Dont forget to clean the knuckle up and copper slip it when you put it back (makes life a lot easier in the future)

Another tip for the same job - Undo all 3 of the 13mm head bolts about 5-6mm and put a bolt (12mm or so) between the front-most 13mm head bolt and the axle tube. Start the jeep and turn the steering the opposite way to the side you are working on, the force will pop the hub assembly out of the knuckle  :-D

...and don't forget the coppaslip when you put it back together!

Also dont forget to take the circlips off the ujs when you are trying to knock them apart.

 realised after about 1/2 an hour with a vice and a big hammer

i just used a 3 legged puller nice and easy to pull the hub off

just undo all 3 an give it a good belt with the hammer!!!! works every time :-?

but i am replacing the cv joints with uj's!!!!

You might have a bit of binding on tight corners when you swap out those CVs.  I'm guessing you've got the NP249 transfer case in your ZG, with the viscous coupling - I think these were designed for CV axle shafts.
