Title: Oil pressure sending unit
Post by: Diddy on September 17, 2008, 10:05:36 PM
Can anyone tell me the position of the oil sending unit in a Cherokee 2.5 td? My gauge has gone mad but the car is running fine.

It could be in ine of three positions depending on year and whether it has been updated.

Original position was at the back of the drivers side of the engine under the turbo.Impossible to get to and lasted about 6 months.

Second (and relaocated position for early ones) was near the oil filter.

Third and final was under the manifolds about halfway along the engine.

Thanks for the answers, the gauge actually goes to zero after the engine warms up but no signs of trouble with the engine. I will do an oil and filter change to be safe and order a new sending unit. Its a 96 cherokee by the way.
