are you trying to compete with Mr.Henry for lift and mods ?
Title:
Post by: doublej on October 21, 2008, 07:15:44 PM
not sure who Mr.Henry is, if im being forced to keep up with anyone it would be KingCJ
it isnt gonna be alot of lift if thats what you mean, gonna stay as close to stock as the 404s will let me with alot of up travel.

Yes 1st and 2nd, will be great to see ya again, hopefuly not the last before i have my "vacation". And the help is always appreciated.

I NEED Team Monkey stickers or at least  print out so Stacia can cut them out. Actually if you can do me a print out too, mama can sew them into shirts or something too.

thats gonna be monster how you gonna overcome the compound low ratios of them axels
Title:
Post by: doublej on October 23, 2008, 10:30:47 PM
there aint no compound low ratios - thats a myth :-D
just stick big tyres on and go play

honestly playing in two different mogged rigs, we bomb around all the time.

Post by: Bubba on October 25, 2008, 12:57:21 PM
dunno kings seems to need a lotta revs to get any wheel speed i know folks keep trying to go slower n slower for inching over what they tern technicle section but there are a lot of times where wheel speed is a deffo advantage i only mention kings as i have now at last seen it itss uber cool but i have been looking at some chalenge vids and ther seems a few that are so low geared that they may as well have a lawn mower engine for the amont of power they are able to use 40 million revs and 3mph seems a strange route to go use does anyone use a three speed transfer case maybe
Title:
Post by: doublej on October 25, 2008, 06:10:24 PM
rev wise hell have to chime in and answer, but i know power wise, it has never hurt him. thats the only department i might have to do some catching up. Some of what you might have seen with kingcj also is the fact that he doesn't change gears a lot. he picks a gear that he thinks is best suited and stays with it for the most part. i know when i drove his jeep, i kept wanting to shift all the time, and hes just learned to live with it.

at the end of the day, whatever you have to do to make the drivablity how you want it, is worth it to me to use the mogs.

i do take ya point dood not knocking a good thing but there is folk out there on some of the chalenge sites they enter some deep gooo  engine flat out and the wheels hardly turnning then the runners out with line faster than you can say bogger
maybe they got the gearing but tackle mud with there rock vision goggles on

rocks and portal box's don't mix - it was a fad in amarica sometime ago it's topsy turvey technology
Title:
Post by: Bubba on October 25, 2008, 07:58:56 PM
i would love to see a jeep on rockwels over here  mog axels would be easy to end up high and narrow wazzas dont look narrow i realy like kings but i feel he will develop his a lot more i have only met him once and i can see them cogs never stop in his head

Dana60's  and Rockwells are scarce over on this little island. Mogs are easier to source and cheap. Volvo 303's work well too, but not cheap.

Well in favour of Mogs, KingCJ's truck laughs at some pretty large stuff at Kirton. Crawls like spider and i dont think he has smashed a portal gear set yet?

Previously punched the ratios in for Mogs running stock TJ running gear. AX15 Gearbox onto NV231 Tranny. The results are below:

44's at 2000RPM

Gear---High(1:00)---Low (2:72)
_______________________

1st >>>9mph  >>>3mph
2nd >>>14mph >>>6mph
3rd >>>24mph >>>8mph
4th >>>35mph >>>12mph
5th >>>43mph >>>16mph
Rev >>>7mph  >>>3mph

What Autobox do TJ's run? maybe the ratios in an Auto maybe a little better?

Keep up the work JJ 8-)

hey mog axle's under a tj is great - for the terrain the uk has it's probably the best compromise.

really looking forward to see this project grow...
Title:
Post by: doublej on October 25, 2008, 11:27:40 PM
this baby is hopefully destined for a little more than just the uk.
i think the biggest compromise is weight, gearing can always be fixed for any type of driving.

we had a few sets a of 60s n 70s in they ended up scrap as ther were no takers
i think wazza runs an auto with his portals

To rebuild 60's over here still costs a fair bit, once you stick what they use in them from over the pond  )

Sure it can - its a question of how much uptravel you want.

Well that or how much of the body you want to chop off.

its lookin good so far,
if you want to get those wheel hubs off the stubs all i can say is good luck :-?

gearing wise ive had mine round the bloc a few times an i guess that it'll do about 45/50 full pelt if i dare. thats on a 4ltr AW4 np242

bubba youve taken the work right out my mouth, rockwells  :-D
Title:
Post by: doublej on October 27, 2008, 11:37:56 PM
yeah a friend removed the hubs with a press. I got my hub convo and brake adaptors from WEPS offroad, real simple and straight forward.
i think rocks are over rated, its nothing more than a poor mans mogs. but ive never ran them.
Title:
Post by: Bubba on October 28, 2008, 08:49:57 AM
i think some of the axels used in the front end of tractors would be interestin they give lots of clearance and seem amazingly slender for the work they do biggest down side is no brakes so you would have to put a disc conversion on the prop

ever thought about doing simple ,odifiactions without removing the majority of the floor pan

Yeah, but i would get what i want...... i am by no means a pro or know it all when it comes to offroad 4links or what makes a rig do what. but i knew what i wanted to be able todo. High speed bombing runs (lots of skinny pedal in open space), massive amounts of flex for slow crawling, and a predicable rig. that lead me to alot of reading, research, 4link write ups and then more rereading to understand things. which in the end was just as deadly as knowing nothing, b/c now i know just enough(or so i think i do! lol)
but if youve ever looked at comp rigs in the states you can find all sorts of different link set ups, i went with fairly simple link angles with lots of adjustment. at the right angles and lengths this is give very small changes in how it acts as the axle moves........

in the end if you know what you want - its not really hard, you just have to commit to it and run with it. it will all be flat boxed in the end with storage under it. alot like a 90 lol

" I am no means a pro"  :hysterical: :hysterical: :hysterical:

with what you are doing and the last project you did, you cant call yourself an ameture. The research and build quality/look is just as good as any pro shop build. Looking forward to seeing the finished article.

does the picture show the the rear axle fully adjustable for nose angle ?

the last build never got finished and almost ended me..........
The research and build quality/look is just as good as any pro shop build. Looking forward to seeing the finished article.
thanks - i do try but still nowhere near how i want things. most of what you see, even as simple as the the lower axle mounts have been remade a few times over. and im usally happy while im making it and pissed off about it a day later lol
does the picture show the the rear axle fully adjustable for nose angle ?
i take it you mean pinion - drive shaft angle??? nope the rear is point almost dead straight at the rear of the t-case. which looks to be almost stock spot for the mogs. the adjustable upper mount on the frame are to change the way the suspension behaves. the lower the mounting hole the higher the anti-squat goes. but no matter where it is the number wont change much over 10degrees from ride height to full bump :icon_super:

if anyone doesnt understand my ramblings please let me know...... im not great at explaining whats in my head all the time
Title: Re: i have a monkey on my back
Post by: doublej on June 19, 2009, 10:56:23 PM
started mocking up the front links, i knew this was gonna be a pita but geeze man.........
front cross member - same as the rear, just didnt need to be shaved to clear the tranny like the rear did for the t-case
(http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2469/3642465842_c3d362a71e.jpg)
lower frame mounts - will be exactly like the rears
(http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3298/3642465656_631feb4249.jpg)
frame upper mounts - this is where the problems start
(http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3303/3642465496_63b36a0c57.jpg)
tried to measure and mock things, but still not sure - but pretty sure the tire will rub the links
lower is easy to fix upper..........yeah yeah yeah
i put it outside the frame cause at full bump the link itself wants to hit the bottom of the motor mount
left side is tight with the driveshaft and exhaust - right side is tight with the starter motor

i see more chopping and a set of bent upper links coming :icon_twisted:

still dealing with the front upper link issues, but i got some ideas and alittle done here and there.......
this is the front cross member, same as the rear just not tapered to clear the tcase
and it only took me half a day and a good handful of wasted metal - still need bracing and what not
(http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3544/3647257607_87ef336918.jpg)
now thats a stance - still small tires if you ask me -  :icon_twisted: -gonna have todo something bout that
(http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3550/3648062252_66b3546e1c.jpg)
now thats how it should have some from the factory, alittle lower and tilted
might even go lower with it
(http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3324/3648065786_863162c720.jpg)
front and rear break over angles - killer even with small tires
Title: Re: i have a monkey on my back
Post by: doublej on June 21, 2009, 09:20:06 PM
like i said got the front lower links going, still needs some trimming, and bracing
(http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2456/3647418943_9ea3501699.jpg)
then the uppers - just cant win this game
(http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3622/3647418707_178a97d716.jpg)
so bent uppers under the motor mount its is - blah blah blah
(http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2435/3647419365_3bd06c1d5d.jpg)
on a side note - this didnt get much better

well my welder went tits up this weekend, so much for "good" weekend. with alittle help from the wife - we got something done, the relay for the wire feed was stuck on, so basicly she turned it on and off while i was holding the trigger - talk bout a pita. lol
we were both wanting to "see something" - so time for the backend trimming
before.....

was it worth keeping anything on the back after that trimming  ?

so after a couple hours driving round the wife gave up looking for the part i needed for my welder and started calling around. hopefully well know something tomorrow.

With the welder out at the shop all i could do is cut things that wouldnt need tacking to further build.
finished up the rear coilover mounts - and couldnt resist throwing the coilover on there

had to work all day saturday, and sunday the weather and no welder bummed me out, so i cleaned the garage.... i could barely move
then i started cracking on the panhard bar mounts. still hard for me to wrap my head around these

well mark and clayt came down to help with some rollcage work, and after a long week at work it was a great break to fab something ive always enjoyed. even more so with good mates to make fun of :icon_twisted:
started with me and mark pulling the dash - took all of about 30mins, who says you cant teach lr owners a thing or two
(http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3484/3758476077_7324aa39cb.jpg)
then to the jr2............how many monkeys does it take to make a jungle gym?

get some :icon_twisted:

i love building cages and exos, but getting everything where it "needs" to be is a pita
either way uppers on the rear is boxed
(http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2544/3786048792_0e41d5e829.jpg)
an easy piece to place - door bars
(http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2511/3785240601_d052726d84.jpg)
part of it that keeps me going.....so sexy when its holding itself up.

it was a short weekend, there was some more things here and there done, but not really worth the photo,
alot of playing with scrap tubing, trying to figure out placements - its gotta be right cause im bracing my link mounts off of it.

someone else needs to start a build in here or im gonna start asking for reason yall aint at the house helping me!!!! lol

Lookin good mate. I like the seat bars coming off the big hoop with the angle. You should chat with greggmo about tube seems like he may be able to beat the price your paying at the moment, worth a shot anyways.

i now work for a steel stockholder and can get hold of top spec fia approved cold drawn seamless tube for a better price than most. it is the best tube money can buy. it ant cheap but if ya gonna do it...do it right.

deff. had a decent weekend, although like most things everything took longer than i wanted
started friday night with a new todo list - working for a roller
(http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3439/3805015728_da5234cd06.jpg)
then i started in on the new rear truss, the last one ended up not being long enough
(http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3554/3804200927_a0ceda7508.jpg)
that pretty much finished off the rear except the frame lowers, and not sure what i wanna do there yet........

so moving to the front - time for some panhard bar mounts
this is just shoved together, everything needs alittle tweeking
(http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2507/3805017958_11b4510e06.jpg)
and after a long weekend i figured a pick me up was due.......get some tires on this thing
(http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3211/3805016012_d109cb7702.jpg)
sitting at ride height
(http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2479/3805016306_60da175f85.jpg)
so i was liking that, but it wasnt enough........lets flex out the rear
(http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3458/3805016958_104492d494.jpg)
thats almost 9in of up travel with like 4 more inches togo
(http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3505/3804199885_6caefb4925.jpg)

and thats when we noticed one of the rear jack stands holding the jeep up was visibly moving every time i pumped the floor jack. lol  :icon_super: thats a stiff 4link.

and a closing sexy shot.......

hows the front looking? the rear looks to work, any bind in the joints?
Title: Re: i have a monkey on my back
Post by: doublej on August 09, 2009, 09:16:49 PM
no binding in the rear other than the body trying to fall off the jack stand
but although its 9ins up, really doesnt seem like that much - im betting if its going to bind itll be at the droop
but i have no idea what something binding to show up as
the front still needs alittle work
both sides of the panhard need work - lower frame mounts need the waffers added and the crossmember welded - and still fighting over the upper frame mount

maybe this will shut you guys up.
rear of the frame is up
(http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2750/4022323425_41c4cceb97.jpg)
new rear crossmember is ready for welding - you can see the center section is removable
(http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2688/4023079562_8258776424.jpg)
the ends will get cut flush with the frame - but this shows how little the link mount itself hangs down
(http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2659/4022323147_39b6376934.jpg)

front crossmember - same idea as the front

pita crawling around this thing to weld it

random photo of tub and hipbar

bit of CAD work
(http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2745/4163849402_0c60495cd5.jpg)
turns into this....
and this
(http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2622/4163089009_a1456945d9.jpg)
also got the rear uppers welded and gusseted
(http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2521/4163089825_b82dc20a9a.jpg)

then i started playing with the fuel cell so i could call the back half done
was thinking length wise and batteries on the other side
(http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2617/4163088431_340904b50a.jpg)
this is easier, but gotta modify the floor braces so i can tuck it as low as the links will allow
(http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4002/4163089331_ef1c43d1b3.jpg)

then cranked out some recovery points that will second as the rear bumper mount

well while flexing the rear out we noticed the coilover just barely touch the frame, so im going to have to notch that
and at the same time the lowers hit the frame in the last 2in or so of flex.
pretty sure i have a quick and simple way todo both, but i wanna wait till johnny and dan get down next weekend with my hubs so i can make sure with the tires on the rear there isnt any more issues......

also figured the tub flooring out, gotta grab some steel bar since its alot easier than cutting long strips with the grinder, it should come out mimicking the crossmembers and look alot like some baja trucks.

other than that this week i finally start finishing the front, wonder if itll beable to sit on its own next weekend???? :jpshakehead:

this is mostly for the pirate4x4 crew, noone had a real answer on what it takes to tie the front end tubing to the main cage
guess its more of a baja / buggy thing.

drivers side
(http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2556/4173166541_980c11a4d2.jpg)
this side had alot more stuff in the way, any farther in and it would have gotten into the brake master mount
(http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2790/4173166451_4cda2af9a8.jpg)
pass side
(http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2694/4173922128_ccbcdff656.jpg)
pass. side was alot easier to deal with
(http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4006/4173922242_ac4933c9a8.jpg)
all and all you have to build the drivers side then make the pass. side match - the inner bracing on the driver side pushes the tube at odd angles
but not to much that you cant deal

simple yet sexy - i really need to learn to tig for this small stuff
(http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2696/4173922606_c5956fb526.jpg)
Title: Re: i have a monkey on my back

tieing the front into the main cage is basically what you are doing now. Make a hole through the bulkheads so the front engine cage can be attatched to the A pillar part of the cage. Might be worth putting some gussets in to strengthen the joint as any front impact forces could bend the main cage. The body work then starts to become purely cosmetic. You might then get an idea to mount the engine to the front cage etc etc

well had productive days and others that felt like nothing got done. but its getting to the point that all the small things are killin me.
front axle is almost finished, just needs welding and a few boxing plates
diesel dan was over at the weekend and worked some magic on my panhard bar axle mount

dont think its going to go anywhere, 6mill brace plate welded to the axle flange

still needs the inside boxing in but cant be fully since you need to get to the flange bolt inside - easy stuff

Guess whos back - back again.......
been back on home soil for about a week now. Got off the plane on thursday and saturday i was at the flying spanners lab trying to help get a rig ready for a trip to the Ukraine(yes with the wifes blessing). I am slowly getting back under the monkey and updates will come shortly.
SO momos, you missed my monkey?? whatcha wanna see first??
Title: Re: i have a monkey on my back

well its been along time coming, been back under the jeep about 2 weeks now and some things are slow going but others while they seem to come quick.... just not quick enough for me. but hey ho - it will come together.

reworked the front coilover mounts - started the crossbrace
(http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3416/4632236048_96e81b9cfb.jpg)
you can see the grill mounts in there too - just need to gusset things and add a few more tubes in

seat frames - came out sick but was a pain to get all the pieces flat and level with each other
(http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3338/4631635639_cfd0115ef7.jpg)
seat mounts - took forever.....

rear bulkhead just needs welding
(http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4040/4632234420_a6b7e8c57e.jpg)
fuel cell mount - waiting on parts so i can finish the straps
(http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3340/4632234616_a3efdfaede.jpg)
the top of the straps will be hinged
(http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4027/4631635351_74bd7d80a7.jpg)
start of the flooring, and what might be the battery mounts
(http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4010/4631636839_a8cf416c49.jpg)
very rough start of the inner rear fenders

had to get holes in the hood for the coilover mounts
(http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4004/4631634611_e0258b9895.jpg)
and this is why jj needs a torchmate plasma table - the white dots are for holes then the circles have to be hole sawed out......been doing to many of these lately. but the flat bar does make it easier
(http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3340/4632233100_10c58427e2.jpg)
trying to get paint of things as i go so there isnt so much painting  at the end
(http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3333/4632233618_a8dcf9bfa6.jpg)
had to make a friend some horse shoes, well he called them shock hoops

closer look

fenders and hood just need alittle trimming

Got alot done this weekend, thanks to Curt and Stacia for the help. Front end is only welding and a couple hours of fab work from being done. i wasnt good at taking photos this weekend cause we were realy moving along and alot of stuff was happening all in the front of the jeep.

the heater forces you to put the rollcage bar over the dash...... cant believe how big this thing is
(http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4005/4675537531_341cc486ee.jpg)
and really cant believe how much room it opened up
(http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1307/4676160044_78683b1ba0.jpg)
all this is up for sale - not looking to make money just get rid of it
(http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4043/4676162786_ffac31197a.jpg)

everything but bumpstops and gussets for the upper mount are either cut or ready for welding for the front axle
panhardbar boxed in with space to get at the portal box bolt inside
(http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4026/4675535991_09c9aa5497.jpg)
coilover gussets - it looks cluttered but you wont see any with the fenders on and its damn strong
(http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4003/4675537835_2f1fbbf970.jpg)
coilover hood hole clean up - almost how i want it....lil tweeking left
(http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4018/4675536707_7acdd18405.jpg)
lower links and front coilover crossbar
(http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1297/4676161458_e2ea0530bf.jpg)

round 2 on these rims for paint, and right as i started spraying it started raining.
then to make things worse the paint im using reacted for the second time with the paint under it (which i had already sanded down till i thought it would be happy) so tomorrow i get to strip the centers down bare again and start over....AGAIN!

like i said we got alot done, just no real photos...... just a couple hours left on the fron this week and hoping we can have as good a weekend on the rear next weekend.

alittle update on the future plans for the monkey..... she has to be sitting on her own and ready for plumbing by first weekend of july. that will give me rest of that month and Aug to get her ready for the Big TOR camping weekend at Kirton at the end of the month. long list todo. still waiting on a few parts from the states, and the stupid front drive shaft left to play with.
but its coming together and WILL BE FINISHED! All help is welcome and i pay in food! lol
and yes if all goes as planed she will be at cheapfest and the turkey shoot.

Would this work for the driveline problem?

Edit: Would think it would need 2 Housed bearing though, as the mis-alignment is too much otherwise.

Is your driveline problem because of the oil pan? Maybe you can do a square driveline.

Is your driveline problem because of the oil pan? Maybe you can do a square driveline.

yeah the oil pan and my front drive shaft/pinion want to be in the same spot. doing a square shaft is just to save money bud. wont really fix anything and i need it built with decent parts so it doesnt blow up everytime i use the skinny pedal.
with marks help and a sweet ebay find last night i have everything todo them. just a question if it will hold or for how long.

now if the weather and metal shop will stop screwing with me maybe i can get some more work done this week.

screw the weather, rain isnt screwing up my paint job
(http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4052/4688948480_90406625c1.jpg)
metal shop was finally open - rear uppers and panhard bar put together
then the welder bottle ran out - duhhh!

the tops of the rims have paint drying as i type this and ill weld the rock ring and upper links tomorrow

so update......
warthog and clayt came out this weekend to help me finish the last of the tube work
someone have to work the heavy equipment
(http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4030/4718128437_20e9815caa.jpg)
finishing out the engine cage - you can see the bar that follows the firewall
(http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4019/4718775764_b20e3bcd6c.jpg)
and here is a closer shot of the stiffener bar - just waiting on another set of the tube disconnects
(http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4052/4718130741_4c2c4c646b.jpg)
with the dash bar above the dash the wife couldnt see out very well.....i think she will be fine now
(http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4063/4718130501_8c33683d40.jpg)
warthog said i would die without door bars - check that off the list
(http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4022/4718776506_f83af9a324.jpg)
since we were kinking tube i went ahead and bent the sliders - just tacked it up to see what i wanted todo
(http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4031/4718129389_24e3cc1a72.jpg)

we also bent the front bumper tube and a hoop matching the outside of the grill, but nothing you havent seen and wont even get played with till the monkey is at the barn next month

well alittle late due too not having internet for a week but here we go

finally finished the oil pan modding
(http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4116/4854356203_464980032b.jpg)
mount the rad in the back due to it being about an inch to height
you can also see how the fuel cell is now getting mounted
(http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4102/4854975816_79d974e04f.jpg)
the actual mounts
(http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4093/4854976012_edcb4af865.jpg)
slowly starting to shape up
(http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4099/4854356803_17b6cc4e81.jpg)
start of the exhaust
(http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4117/4854976814_891a2ab47e.jpg)

then time for the flexing
bad shot but this is where the axle actually started to go under itself if that makes sence
(http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4102/4854977760_8599b81e10.jpg)

front deff had more to go

so i only have a few photos, i thought i had taken more but i guess in the madness last week i didnt really pick the camera up as much.
Good things to note is all major fab work is pretty much finished. Just a couple hours of finish welding here and there, wiring back in, run fuel lines, and run rad hoses. only metal left to add is a few gussets and a bracket or two.
I did learn i can wave a tig torch, i just need alot more time with it.
steering just needs a gusset or two
(http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4100/4898578374_21da8661dc.jpg)
tie rod side
(http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4119/4898578600_d36ec87cdb.jpg)
axles side which needs the gussets
(http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4074/4897983755_050ca988bc.jpg)
dropped the floor to try and get the fuel cell as low as i could, but couldnt get it below rear tube work like i wanted
(http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4081/4897984265_669dfcfcd1.jpg)
hubs painted and finished..... or so we thought
(http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4138/4898579024_c6f2053ca6.jpg)
then we found these were rubbing each other

Hi JJ,good job you reminded me,i had forgotten about it,but have just dug it out,i have the bikini top and the deck duster. But i guess the deck duster wont be any good to you anyway. As i said its a best top one in charcoal and has only been on my old CJ a couple of times and is in great condition.Hows £20 plus postage? Its not that heavy so i imagine around a fiver but can get an exact cost if you want?

you are the heat mate!!! is it the same on in the link with the long straps in the back? kingcj said its not molded to the cage and just attached to the winshield with some c channel or something.

It used to slot into the channel on the front of the windscreen on the CJ  so yes some c section will do the same, and it has long straps at the back.Send me your address and i will post it to you first. That way you will get exact postage cost etc and be in receipt of it to make sure its the one for you before you pay,and if it isnt you can just send it back
