I have a 1998 4.0 litre grand cherokkee, last night as i got out the car and went to lock it remotely, i noticed that the indicators didnt flash and it didnt 'cherp' and the interior lights wouldn't go out. the only way i could get the lights out was by removing the fuse but the door curtisy lights remaind on. have to take the circuit break for the driver and passenger module out to get these lights out. By doing so i had to lock all the doors manulally. So before i start delving into the unknown i was wondering if anyone could help me on this matter.
Cheers

Disconnect the battery for a minute to reset the door control module.

cheers for that mike, unfortuneatley it didn't work. Tried disconecting the battery for a minute with no luck and again for 6 minutes..again no luck
I failed to mention with the circuit breaker and fuse back in the central locking does work....have you any more ideas on this?
Cheers

Can I jump in here and ask which breakers and fuse were removed?
I picked up my Jeep from a garage today who did some work on it and the cetral locking isn't working. They fitted a new battery along with a load of other jobs.
Hopefully this will sort it as I can see an argument looming over whether it was working when I gave the Jeep to them. With the child locks on we can't open the rear doors at the moment :(

If your fuse box is down by drivers footwell, the breaker is the middle one, its for the door modules, the fuse for courtesy lights is 3rd block down, 4th in from front of Jeep(no. 16) cured my fault , door switch was earthing continuesly
