I've decided to go the whole hog while I've got the XJ stripped down I'm going to put in some frame stiffening and want to tidy up that nasty seam in the inner wing. So how has it been done in the past and has anyone any pics?

No-one ?

It would seem so
Is that the seam in the rear inner wing?

Yes thats it I just wondered if any one had been creative in doing away with it, rather than just beating it flat and making everything messy. I was thinking if cutting it away and plating over the top but now I'm not sure as perhaps it has some kind of structural strength.

It is where the two parts of the inner wing join there is a lip on the inside of the vehicle and so long as there is no sign of rust then I think you are creating work for no real benefit IMHO.
