Seen RE leaf springs sag in 6 months, dunno about rusty's tho
-
Have you had a look at the rough country ones, quite a few good reviews?
-
I'm running the RE 4.5" Superflex and cannot talk highly enough about it. Great piece of kit.
I've had no experience of running Rustys gear but here's a thread from a US forum that I'm a member of that gives some views on Rustys

My Rusty's lift was fine. Bendy as f*ck, but does ride rough on the street.
If you go above about 3.5", you're into SYE territory, though the Rusty's uses a 1" transfer case drop instead.
A 5.5" lift would need a 2" t/c drop, which isn't going to work well.
-
i'm running a 3.5 rubicon setup no problems with it at all. dont forget you will need to source a set of shocks.
5.5" lift then you will need a slip yoke eliminator and a new rear propshaft to suit the change.
-
No problem with the Rusty's as tim says . Both are running fine the silver is now settling down so runs similar to Tims old onre.
PS Tim still on the road. after a few repairs.........

i know its a bit late on but i went from a 4.5 inch re superflex lift with 3/4inch transfer drop on the xj,
which was an excellent lift!!!!!!!!!!
i then changed too a 8 inch lift with a 2.5inch transfer drop an it still worked alright. altho the prop played the vivaldi 4 seasons while you were driving:) but it lasted 3 months an 3 offroading sessions befor i made a sye!
so if you'r tight like i was then, you can make your 5.5inch lift work cheaper than you think (quite easily i would suspect)!!!
p.s at the time my xj was a daily driver probly doing about 1500miles a month.

Whilst I realise that SYE's are more expensive than a TC Drop, a TC Drop is always a "bandaid" type solution. Go for the SYE everytime if you can afford it.

i have been looking at other lift kits before i buy (shame about exchange rate) my lift kit and i come across this 1 from iron rock XJ 6.5" Critical Path Long Arm Lift Kit
http://www.ironrockoffroad.com/Merchant ... e=IR-X_6LK (http://www.ironrockoffroad.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=IROR&Product_Code=IR-X_6LK)
has any one heard/dealt with iron rock or know if anygood
thanks

Interesting that they're offering a T/C drop kit with it. Every other vendor and every Jeeper will say it requires an SYE with that much lift.
-
this is the reply they gave me as i asked about t/c drop kit
The sye & driveshaft are a must on the 6.5" and highly recommended on the 5.5", but not a MUST. The sye & driveshaft are $199.99,

$200 for a prop and SYE that's not bad for starters just eh cost of the shipping might be a shock
