Title: Heater Fan Problems

Hi All
         I have a 1999 Grand Cherokee facelift. The heater blower fan now only works intermitantly ,when it works it work on all settings and also auto . When it doesn't work it don't work on any . Has any body had a similar  fault ! ! !

The connector on the resistor pack has melted. Trace the cables back from the blower motor in the footwell to locate it. You may get away with just fitting the connector repair kit from Chrysler (about £40) but if the resistor pack is damaged as well they're about another £90

As my nearest dealer is about 60 miles away ,I was wondering if it was possible to just solder the wiring together and do away with the connector all together. Has anyone tried this please. :?:

Alls well now ,had to fit the new connector and resistor as they had fully welded together and just wouldn't split. Total cost was £158 inc P & P ,I fitted it myself ,which took around an hour. :-D
