Title: Lift kits for XJ
Post by: Anonymous on July 26, 2005, 08:12:33 AM
Before I/we order the 3" Skyjacker lift kit as per Chris & KD from 4WD, does anybody have any opinions on the stage II kit from procomp.

The Pro-comp one would be cheaper as there is no worry about the VAT / Import duty.

Is there any difference between the two ? Why should I buy one in favour of the other ?

Need some advice here folks.

Hi

ProComp are great quality but a lot stiffer than OE, the Skyjacker will give a bit more flex. I had a 4" ProComp lift on a TJ that was OK off road but back aching on the tarmac.

Now't wrong with the skyjacker stuff on my heep   :grinyes:
the rear springs should have the wedges on the rear springs, to correct the prop angle, a trackbar relocating braket for the front axle  & new longer lower control arms.

Similar discussion on Jeepclub at the moment. WFIF, my two penneth: The Rubicon Express kit is +3.5" and includes shocks, springs, quick disconnects and lower control arms. I fitted this to my 93 4.0 two years ago. No vibes, no appreciable sag, no problem on or off road. Also allows 31" tyres without fouling. Basically a great kit for around £800 from FTE.
