Title: heated seats

Hi to you all,hope you had a good Christmas. Thanks for a great welcome on the introductions ,have a 51 grand cherokee .Both the heated switches lights come on but no heat to my butt.Is this a common fault and is it a easy fix or does it mean stripping down the seats thanks for any help cheers pete

common i think and yes i think for a permanant fix you skin the seat and replace the heaty bit but at least it will keep you busy so ya butt wont be cold

There will probably be a broken wire in the heat pad in the cushion. If you remove the leather cover you will find a burnt patch where it has failed. You can usually fish out the broken wire and solder it back together, or get a replacement heat pad from Chrysler.

Had to do my seat its just a bust/burnt wire, so just put a new bit in, easy fix I just put about 4" of new wire in with normal connections and now its nice and warm on me bum :!:

Mine don't get warm for about 10 minutes, have you waited that long?

Mine get hot after about 2 min's and on high they get almost too hot :-D

hi thanks for all the help i have left them on for ages but still cold.Waiting for the wekend and might strip drivers seat only need that side i dont sit the other thanks pete

hi, andy here. just bought another jeep for my wife and its seats dont work. i read all your comments about it and i have a small question... when you take the leather cover off  will it go back easily? without looking like a cheap seat cover!

Yep, no problem, can't tell mine has been off :wink:  

ps, its a lot easier than I thought it would be :-D
