Title: Front axle parts intercompatability

Which front props and flanges will fit a ZG?

i.e. If I get teh front pinion flange from a 2.5 xj and front prop, swap these for the flange and front prop off a 4.0 zg will it be a straight swap?

Do I need to have the 4.0 props???

i was wondering if i could do this too!!!

i'd recon you need a 4ltr prop as the 2.5 ones are a alot shorter and also as thin as a pencil.

but the 4ltr one might also be too long! as the rear prop on a zj is longer than a xj so the front would be shorter on the zj.

i might have a definate answer at the weekend if you want as ill be pulling the xj back in the garage to finnish off stripping it. an seeing if i can swap the pinion yoke to my zj.

If you could that would be brilliant. A measurement from the tip of the diff housing (not including yoke) to the tip of the transfer case would be great   I've a prop to put on tomorrow which should solve the short term issues, but long term I think that the xj prop might be the solution.
