My drivers door drops down approx 10-15mm when opening and I can't see any way of adjusting the play in there. Everything seems welded and riveted with nothing visible to replace.
Has this happened to anyone else and do you know how to go about fixing this before my door falls off
-
This is very common on Mk1 XJs. There's a part number for new hinges that have to be welded on.

Hi,
Not sure if this is your problem, but on my 93 XJ the top passenger door hinge had almost parted company with the body, this is an excellent write up on how to put it right....

There is tons of stuff on his website on how to do everything concerning Jeep XJ's, hope it helps.

the door pin is worn out

The door pin looks to be riveted in. Does it need drilled out? Is it a service item or will I have to find something similar in size and bodge a repair.

you must be on about a diesel, the petrol heats up very nicely. you need to flush the cooling system both ways
