Title: exhaust manifold?
Post by: bluejuice on February 03, 2009, 09:19:26 PM
I have a problem!!
I have is a ticking noise upon acceleration which is coming through the vents. I think this may be a cracked exhaust manifold. I found a reciept for some welding work on it from last year that cost £200!
Can anyone one tell me if this is an expensive job to replace the manifold, if it is the problem that is?

Cheers and thanks for the welcomes in the Intro section.

Exhaust manifolds are prone to cracking, if the manifold has been welded up forget it just replace it, I have a modified one on my breaker that has flex joints in them to overcome the problem, not a big job to change either, pm me if you interested

looks worse but isn't bad, you just have to flip the manifold over the engine to get it out of the way.
Worst job is the rear manifold bolt, PITA to get at
