Bear with me guys, I'm sure you've been through all this before but I'm going to make use of my newb status and flap my arms a bit...
Since Saturday I noticed that the dipped beams have been reluctant to switch on. The side lights come on fine but a second tug at the switch results in nada. Worth noting that whilst the dipped beams are inoperative the high beams show no signs of life either.
They miraculously switched on last night during my drive home but my false sense of security was short lived. I tried them this morning and the problem is back. I've wrestled with the high beam stalk, I've beaten the light switch and nothing. :-D

sounds like the light switch is on its last legs. get a replacement from lighthouse jeeps.

So just a new switch unit? No need for relays and upgrading bulbs that I keep reading about? All good if that's the case.

i would start off with the switch myself, they are a very basic switch internally and hence they do wear over the years.

The pull switch is a common failure.

check the connector, underneath the air box first, cos its the easiest, could be that

-
