Title: 4wd advice

cherokee 4 ltr auto 1997...  from 2wd to p t 4wd only engages if i drive vehicle 4 wards or reverse about 15 ft , same from p time to full time , but 4 lo seems ok, anyone else experienced this . any advice much appreciated.

Normal. The 242 transfer case wont shift properly standing still.
