Title: Optima batteries

Hi guys

I need a good battery for the cherry, been looking at Optima.....

Any feedback on suppliers & any idea of the model number I would need??????

Ditto. You need at least 650CCA nfor a 9000lb winch.

There's a good place for batteries in Shrewsbury

Manbat on Lancaster Road

They do Varta which I rate but I know they also do Optima's

i'd stick with normal make batteries, the 3 people i know who had optimas had them die on them within 2 years, bearing in mind they are usually twice as much not really worth it

hi guys im new on here. with regards to the optima batts in my opinion they aint any better than a normal battery!! im a breakdown patrolman. and i,ve come across loads of optimas that have failed for no reason!{i have my theories why} the only advise i can give is use the largest leisure battery you can find as their designed to take a heavy discharge / charge rate! ideal for winches etc!!! hope this might help regards toad!

had thought of a leisure battery but space under the bonnet of a cherry is premium....so it has to be a very high power smallish battery.....

APB trading are way too dear......

Manbat seem to be favourite, good price & they got em in stock!!

Use a DETA battery, choice of two: deep cycle or starter, similar in size and design as Optima, but made by?????

R thursby sells these for 125GBP incl shipping & VAT...

But made by Exide so my contacts tell me, Same as there Maxxim dc battery.

I think the price you gave was for the Deta 900, the 900 dc is £135 all in.

my local battery guy, not 2 mins from work!!!

Batteries on the way out in the ZG so just bought one as well, also should help with all the widgets I have on the damn thing.

if you have the room like me i used a standard battery under the bonnet and a tractor battery between the front seats in my cj. loads off power and only about £40 :D

I have the rear seats in mine.... go out for the day and you need a trailer :)
