Title: Project: Fitted Warn Tank Guard to my TJ
Post by: PtP on March 12, 2009, 11:58:40 AM
I know some of you will have seen this before, but I thought I’d post it here before it gets lost when I pull the JA site.

The photos tell the story, but the new Warn guard does come with a full set of detailed instructions which are very easy to follow.

I did this installation single-handed, but it would have been a lot easier with a second person especially on the re-fit.

Here is the new guard

Access to the filler pipes

Cut the cable tie holding the axle vent pipe

Eight screws removed

Old guard and tank removed

Mud!

Hoses sealed off before pressure washing

Dry run without the tank - it's very heavy. Notice the deflated tyre on the barrow, it was by design!

Tank assembly ready for installation

The fuel pipes have to be fed in first, the barrow was too high so I used the crawler board on axle stands and a jack to start things off

Another bottle jack and plenty of packing to lift the assembly into place a bit at a time

The job's done
