between 1981 and 84 amc jeep delivered a militerised cj8 to the us quartermasters at aberdeen proving ground
maryland not [jockland]
and i need info on the mods and fittings to this jeep i think only one was sent but there may have 2 or 3
i have seen a pic of one but cant now find anything on this jeep
it may have been called a CJL but that may be incorrect

found this here (http://http://www.angelfire.com/nb2/jeeppickups/amgeneral.html)
Apparently, there was also an AM8, as well as an AM7, AM715, and AM720. It was a militarized CJ8, which could possibly be the vehicle featured on the Lebanon page. I am not sure of any other body styles that this vehicle had besides ambulance, but there probably was a personnel carrier version.

1981 was the when new HMMWV was put out to tender and when AM General was split from AMC, is it posible the CJ8 you are looking for was a Hummer test bed or prototype?
