Title: 4lt head swap
Post by: Nosebolt on March 19, 2009, 09:53:37 PM
I have been reading on other forums about fitting a 4lt head with injection on to a 258,

has anyone done this?
is it worth doing?

I know alot will say just get a V8, but cant see that hapening for a while and I want to make the CJ a true everyday car.

i think its better to change the whole thing to a 4.0 not just the head

that was going to be the next question,

what advantage is there to a head swap over a full engine swap or visa versa?

Also look at HESCO (google) have loads on heads from 4.0 to 4.2 as well as ridiculously spendy$$$$$ ali. head that ups the BHP..
Not for spending or getting unless you win the Euro-lottery tonight but interesting to read about.....

More Jeep Porn I guess!

Off top of head I think head bolt holes have to be enlarged to  line up to 4.2 head bolts. So major machining .
