Title: make mirros automatically fold?

Hi all,

Bit of a long shot and the answer is probably no, but is there any modification that can be done to make the powerfold mirrors automatically fold in when the ignition is turned off? The car in question is a WJ 1999 4.7 limited.

if you can do it already with the jeep running then there should be a way of wiring up a cicuit to do it automatically when the ignition is turned off

You could just try pressing the power-fold button?

I have it in my head that I used to keep the lock button pressed down on the remote for 2 seconds to make the mirrors fold.

Also, you might want to be careful folding the mirrors too often. They are very, very fragile. They break easily and cost lots to replace.

Thanks for the replies, was hoping someone had already done a mod but not to worry.
I know they are expensive, someone knocked mine off (because it wasnt folded!!) and I thought it might be nice to have them do it on their own incase I forget.
Tried the button trick but unfortunately didnt work.

i find driving in to things folds them nicely

Would probably work, it folded in quite nicely when someone ran into it and buggred off, made a nice pattern on the glass too
