Title: 3.0 CRD oil pressure
Post by: kittern on April 16, 2009, 12:29:25 PM
Hi ... Jeep Grand Cherokee first reg Oct 2006, 3.0 diesel CRD Limited ... oil pressure light coming on momentarily .. only when engine warm for maybe 20 minutes/half hour ... ok at 2000 revs in top (auto) but it lights/pings at 2500, or if downchanging to 4th or 3rd gear and revs rise by 500, same again. Happens whether towing or single. Usually only stays on for maybe 2 seconds but a couple of times after giving the engine some stick at 3000 revs it has stayed on for about a minute then gone off as soon as revs drop to 2000 again.  Correct oil etc, recently serviced/filters etc.
I'm getting the sensor changed tomorrow just in case but not hopeful.  Any advice?

Keep taking it back to the dealer until it's fixed - your warranty is good til October.

That advice I already knew thanks .... maybe I should have asked - any idea what it might be that's causing the problem?

You're gonna struggle to get an answer on here, unfortunately. We're mostly too poor or too sensible to buy a
WK and pay a fortune in tax.

Luckily the 3.0 CRD is sold in the US, so you would probably get an answer on the NAGCA forum at
http://www.nagca.com/forum (http://www.nagca.com/forum" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;)

Get onto jeep customer services if the dealer cant fix it, they will send someone down to have a look.
